My stay at the Jozankei Manseikaku Hotel Milione had its ups and downs. The onsen experience was fantastic, especially soaking in the outdoor bath surrounded by mountains. However, I was put off by the lingering smell of stale cigarette smoke and the dated decor. The dining options were plentiful and delicious, but the crowd at breakfast made it a bit overwhelming.

The buffet breakfast was by far the best I've had in Hokkaido, while the dinner was satisfactory, though the lack of crab options was disappointing.

The onsen facilities were nice, but the WiFi only in the lobby and some outdated amenities were less than ideal.

However, I found the rooms a bit dated and the dining experiences somewhat overcrowded, which took away from the enjoyment. Service could use improvement, especially regarding the wait time for the car at checkout. Overall, I had a nice experience, but I did leave feeling somewhat dissatisfied.

I stayed in a twin room, which felt a bit dated, but it had a lovely view. While the room was spacious and warm, I found the beds to be quite firm, and there was no USB plug for charging devices. I appreciated having yukata and slippers provided, but I wish the air conditioning worked better. 🛏️

The hotel is situated in a beautiful mountainous area near Sapporo, which is really nice. I also appreciated being close to nature trails and the foot onsen, though it can be quite steep getting there. It takes about an hour to reach by bus from Sapporo, so be prepared for that. 🌲
